A message from the Director of Coaches:

The 2011 season is upon us. Keep in mind that the Cape Cod Riptides requires all players playing in the U14 age group and below to wear a protective facemask during practice and games. Although optional for the U16 and U18 infielders, we strongly encourage all pitchers and corner infileders in all age groups to wear the facemask.

The Riptides also recommends that players purchase a personal helmet for their use. Owning your own helmet is hygienic and allows players of all sizes have a helmet that fits the specific sizes of the player. When purchasing a helmet, take your player with you for sizing and fitting. Make sure the helmet is gloss black and has a rated face cage that your player can see out of without obstruction. Ensure the helmet has a chinstrap (required for tournaments). If your player sports ponytail, you may purchase a helmet with a ponytail space inside the helmet. Please refrain from purchasing a helmet with a ponytail cut-out where the hair is worn on the outside of the helmet. The Riptides will provide your player with the necessary logos and numbers for the helmets.
